User-Centered Design

Applied design for digital development programs

Flow of Design Deliverables

Our user-centered design process follows Agile principles. Through user studies we capture observations, organize them into activity maps, and translate them into task-based screen designs/flows. Rapid prototyping of key features helps the team iterate toward thoughtful solutions based on user feedback.

User studies yield valuable insight into the use and context of your software.

  • User studies last approx. an hour. We expect to conduct 3-5 sessions minimum. The whole process takes 1 to 2 weeks depending on schedules.

  • Users are sourced from your customers, subject matter expert or stakeholders. If anonymous end-users are required, iTrellis can source study session candidates.

  • User studies are best when one-on-one with the facilitator and user. Sessions are recorded for the team to review later and serve as the basis for team design discussions.

Interface Design

Screen designs, built in shared figma files, capture all details required to build the solution. Feedback and collaboration is managed via embedded comments and detailed specification notes documenting features, functionality, decisions, and instructions.

Backlogs

Design specification files are decomposed into Epics, Features, and User Stories providing a basis for the estimation of cost, effort, and project duration.
